Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its head office in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and also a supporting office in Dar es Salaam.

Position: Officer 3 – Procurement and Contracts
Job Number: GGM-2020-XFC-02.
Number of Positions: 01.
Works For: Senior Supervisor – Logistics.
Qualifications: Bachelor degree or Hgher Diploma in Purchasing /Supply Chain/Materials
Management/ Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ working experience in Supply chain specifically in logistics function in the mining environment.
• Experience with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, preferably SAP system.
• Dynamic knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain, effective ability to recognize opportunities and suggest ideas, achieve cost savings and streamline current processes to increase internal productivity
• Experience with the use of Microsoft office Tools
Purpose of the Role: The Officer 3 – Procurement and Contracts duties will be the following and not limited to:
• Ensuring an effective and efficient clearing and forwarding of imported and exported goods.
• Receive shipment pre-alerts and initiate duty assessment requests with TASAC.
• Information retrieved from the vendor performance system on’ Number of Overdue
Number of late deliveries
