VACANCY: PROJECT EXECUTANT – LAND FOR LIFEWWF is seeking to hire a competent and motivated Project Executant – Land for life for its office in Tanzania, based in Arusha.
Main Tasks
Under the direction of the SOKNOT Focal person, and working closely with the WWF and TPW project teams, the Project Executant will support the coordination of project activities in the Lake Natron area which constitutes the Tanzanian part of the project area

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating all project activities, working with WWF and TPW staff and a number of external experts and partners, which will include a multi-stakeholder engagement process, the review and collection of essential baseline data, the co-creation of appropriate implementation approaches and the establishment of related monitoring systems.
- Support TPW with the implementation of the thematic activities such as
- Human-Wildlife-Conflict (HWC) mitigation, participatory land use planning, sustainable rangeland management, eco-friendly business development, community-based natural resource management, wildlife and habitat conservation and according to already established implementation protocols and strategies.
- Ensure the strong participation and benefitting of women and youth as well as people with disability in all project activities.
- Identify and develop excellent working relationships with important stakeholders such as community leaders and community-based organizations, women group representatives, local user groups, Government authorities, research institutions and other projects in the region.
- Represent WWF at meetings/workshops at local government (district) levels and ensure effective coordination, collaboration and knowledge sharing with Government authorities and other stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the project, which include effective administration and tracking of project finances, project monitoring and evaluation, timely reporting to WWF, TPW and donor and effective coordination and cooperation between project partners.
- Work with WWF and TPW staff to develop/adjust work plans and budgets.
- Cooperate with Senior Management Team staff in WWF-Tanzania on relevant topics to ensure alignment with WWF plans and policies and to support further fundraising.
- Submit regular progress and technical reports to the SOKNOT Program Coordinator
- Ensure the confirmation and documentation of free, prior and informed consent of the target groups, the implementation and monitoring of safeguards according to WWF’s ESSF Framework, the mitigation of identified risks and the establishment of a grievance mechanism in close cooperation with the respective WWF focal persons.

- A postgraduate qualification (MSc), knowledge and experience in a relevant discipline (e.g., natural sciences, social sciences, conservation biology, landscape ecology, economics, conservation planning or related field), a PhD qualification will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years professional experience in relevant sectors, in particular with regard to community-based natural resource management and gender-oriented livelihood and business development support, preferably in Northern Tanzania.
- At least 2 years of experience in program development and management, including preparing and managing sizable and complex budgets, technical and financial reporting, matrix working, program monitoring and evaluation, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements for implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive multi-stakeholder engagement processes including stakeholder workshops, and to build capacity of multiple stakeholders to engage in the project
